Corequisite: EDUC 622. A study of the interdependence of families, schools and communities with an emphasis on the role of the school as a socializing agent in a changing society. Participants engage in activities that develop the dispositions and skills necessary for collaboration with parents and community professionals in the interest of supporting optimal development for their students. Current classroom practice is described and analyzed relative to the impact of parent and community involvement on student learning.
