(5 [2-1-2] hour(s)) Prerequisites: NURS 104 and Admission to the ABSN Program. This course focuses on the development of core knowledge and values of professional nursing practice for the ABSN student. It introduces the student to the nursing process, the concept of critical thinking, evidence-based practice, and fundamental skills necessary for the provision of safe and effective nursing care. Clinical experiences in laboratory and selected healthcare facilities provide opportunities for the student to apply nursing concepts and the clinical decision-making process. This course cannot be challenged.
