This course provides a scientific basis for an understanding of the research process in nursing and builds on an undergraduate understanding of statistics, focusing on descriptive and inferential statistics commonly used in nursing research. This course emphasizes the evaluation and utilization of research as it pertains to evidence-based nursing practice. The steps of the research process, including the application of statistics and interpretation of results, will be explored and analyzed. The relationship and appropriateness of statistical methods to evidence-based nursing practices will be examined.
