(3 hours) Prerequisites: Admission to the MS program and three Graduate PSYC hours. A study of the history of the treatment of substance abuse; diagnostic criteria for substances of abuse; the neurobiology and physiology of addictive behaviors; assessment of individuals with substance abuse problems and major counseling and psychotherapy techniques for individuals with substance abuse problems. This course cannot be challenged.
