(3 hours) A course designed to develop an understanding of the extensive issues surrounding domestic violence. Areas explored in the course will cover the historical and social context, dynamics of abusive relationships, dimensions of domestic violence, characterization of victims and offenders, criminal justice response to domestic violence, and legal ramifications of both criminal and civil issues surrounding domestic violence.
