(3 hours) Prerequisites: KINE 211, 215, and 380 and BIOL 226 and 226; Co-requisite BIOL 227 and BIOL 227L. The course provides students with a fundamental understanding of the pathophysiology of the most prevalent chronic conditions. Further, the student will learn how regular physical activity effectively manages chronic disease including: coronary heart disease, congestive heart failure, peripheral artery disease, obesity, diabetes, arthritis, hypertension, high cholesterol and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
