(3 hours) Prerequisites: Admission to the MS program and PSYC 650. An exploration of the theory and practice of group psychotherapy. Including but not limited to a study of the principles of group dynamics, group process and group leadership; theories and methods of group counseling; the application of group work theory and practice to organizational dynamics and social justice advocacy in different environmental settings (e.g. family, school, university, workplace and community settings). Emphasis is on learning how to develop and lead therapy groups. Experiential exercises will be included. This course cannot be challenged.
